During the nineteen sixties those of us who protested against the wars in Southeast Asia by means of civil disobedience used the power of ten. The power of 10 is a support mechanism by which ten support one. The one being supported is the one who gets arrested by his act of civil disobedience, the ten who act in support of the one are there to handle the legal expenses and whatever else is needed to insure a successful protest that receives lots of press and attention. There is no fence to sit on; it has been sold.
